All You Ever Wanted to Know About Insurance

Choose a Good Health Insurance Plan Early to Get the Best Values

As the old saying goes, early bird eats the worm. We are approaching the Open Enrollment season for the Healthcare Insurance Marketplace, and this is a good time of the year to improve or update your current conditions related to your coverage for the new year. This is very important because it’s the time you will take to select a great healthcare coverage for yourself and your family.

Self employed people who don’t receive healthcare benefits from a company, and uninsured individuals or families, should know that the Healthcare Marketplace Open Enrollment period starts on November 1st.

Although this open enrollment period will last until January 15, 2022— we at Orlando Insurance Center strongly recommend you to start searching, early in the process. That is because, like in any other category, the best policies and coverage with more benefits, and lower copays and deductibles are always available at the beginning of the Open Enrollment and those are the first to  run out. The Healthcare Marketplace will help you find the coverage that best fits your needs and budget. Plans from the healthcare market offer essential benefits for your health, including doctor’s visits, preventive treatment, hospitalization, prescriptions, and more. Also, you will be able to add vision, and/or dental benefits to your desired coverage. You can compare different plans based on price, benefits, quality of care, and all other important characteristics that you want to take into consideration at the time of purchasing your next coverage.

To make sure you receive coverage for the first day of the new year 2022, you must purchase your plan before December 15, 2021.

There are many reasons why you would like to receive the assistance of your specialized insurance agent. For example, when you start navigating their site and you want to compare policies from one company to another, it may become a little confusing because of technical language that you need to make sure you fully understand. Once you make a decision and purchase your plan, but then you change your mind, you would need to wait until the following year to be able to make those changes. There are exceptions like a Special Enrollment Period that allows you to make changes, if you had life changing conditions like, moving, getting married, or having a baby. In general, you have 60 days from the day any of these life changing events occurred, to get enrolled in your new plan, and you must report it as soon as possible.

Your agent could not only help you select the plan with most benefits within your health and financial capabilities, but also will be able to make important recommendations based on their experience, and other customers’ experience with different companies or same coverage.

That itself is a very useful resource that will help you feel more relax, in a process that tends to be somehow stressful.

In order to be elegible to use the Healthcare Marketplace you must:

  • Live in the United Stated
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national (or be lawfully present)
  • Can't be incarcerated
